The 15-puzzle (also called Gem Puzzle, Boss Puzzle, Game of Fifteen, Mystic Square) is a sliding puzzle that consists of a frame of numbered square tiles in random order with one tile missing. The goal is to place the tiles in order by making sliding moves that use the empty space.

How to Play

  • Click on a tile adjacent to the empty space to move it
  • Arrange the numbers in order from 1-15
  • The empty space should be in the bottom right corner
  • Complete the puzzle with as few moves as possible

Tips & Tricks

  • Solve the puzzle row by row, starting from the top
  • Get the first row and first column correct before proceeding
  • For the last 2x2 corner, move tiles in a clockwise pattern
  • Practice recognizing common patterns to solve faster
